Know Before You Go

How do I look?

First off, you look fantastic. We couldn't ask for better looking guests and we want you to look your best with us!
The dress code is Black Tie.
Ladies, we want to be dazzled by you in your most elegant floor length gown. Eric wears a color changing sequin jacket around so there's no such thing as too much.
Gentlemen, it's a tuxedo. Order a martini and pretend you have a British accent.
Look to Ryan Ledwith (Groomsman) for tips!

Can I bring my children?

While we'll be a bit too busy to provide any babysitting services, this wedding is not strictly child-free. Give one of us a call or shoot us a text if you plan to bring your children-aged children!

What if I have a food allergy or dietary restriction?

The menu will be completely gluten-free.
The cocktail hour and dinner will consist of beef, chicken, shrimp, and vegan options.
Please be aware that there will be fish and shellfish present, but our chef has assured us there will be no cross-contamination. If you have any concerns, please let us know as soon as possible.

Will transportation be provided?

At this time, we are not planning to provide transportation from offsite hotels.
We recommend you stay onsite at The Inn at Herrington Harbour, but should you stay offsite at the Guest Quarters or the Rod n' Reel, please let Eric or Elysia know as soon as possible.

What would you say you do here?

It's a beach town. In December. But that doesn't mean you can't have fun!

Here's a list of things we've found for you to occupy your time.

1. Channel Your Inner Jack Sparrow
Nobody's watching their boat in the winter so don your tricorn hat, swig a barrel of rum, and hoist the Jolly Roger as you sail off into the Chesapeake Bay sunset!
Kenny Mika (Groomsman) can regale you with his tales to the Third Sea.

2. Eat Some Food
Who knew pirating boats was such hard business?! Add some ballast for that rum by trying the best restaurants we tried:

  • Vaughan Cheese: Don't let the name deceive you... They have a full menu with accompanying wines to boot! But don't forget to try the cheeses! The Vaughans are extremely knowledgeable and will definitely set you straight.
  • Hook & Vine: Not feeling nautical enough after your boating adventure? Visit here for their nautical motifs and stupendous seafoods.

3. Go Fake Gambling with Real Money
The Rod 'n' Reel (~10 minutes away) has a website that shows cards, but doesn't actually have card games. What do they have, you ask? Bingo and fake slots (aka video pull tab machines)! If you're playing Bingo, take a free space on us ♥
Reach out to Captain Bradley Wood's (Groomsman) charter service as he finally makes sail for his casino boat gambling trip.

4. Browse TripAdvisor or FourSquare
Who better to ask than your friendly neighborhood internet troll?

5. File a TPS Report
But if you could go ahead and remember to put the coversheet on it, that would be great.

What trivia do I need to know about Elysia & Eric?

If we told you, we'd have to kill you. But yes, Elysia and Eric are both the older twin.

When does the dancing start?

Unofficially at any time because you can dance if you want to.
Andrew Roa (Competitor) will be providing a step-by-step Kangaroo Hop tutorial good enough to make Raygun and the whole of Australia proud.

Will the bar be open?

If a tree falls over in the woods while a deaf bear makes silly origami hats while doing its business nearby, does it make a sound?
Gregory Burts (Competitor) has your answer.

Where will I be sitting?

Seating arrangements will be decided by an intense game of musical chairs DJ'd by the #1 artist on the iTunes Swedish EDM charts, Patrick 'Rick Chillings' Schilling (Competitor).
There will be assigned seats for guests who are unable to participate. Please look carefully for reserved signs before claiming a chair.

Will you be leaving us behind in the winter cold?

We surely will be! We're headed down to St. Lucia the following Sunday so wish us luck for good weather!
